Me, avec a pile of cookies
The air feels heavy with snow outside, even though it hasn't started yet. Boston is to get 4-10 inches this afternoon and evening... heavy and fast, they are saying. I guess that the bulk of it is to hit between 5 and 10 PM or so; that will be some lovely commute! Right now, the sky has that dark color that looks like the snow is about to spill out of it.

I did find it interesting that at 6:30 this morning, my phone rang with a message from the city of Somerville. I didn't know that they had automated systems like that. Basically they were just calling (and they actually apologized for the early call, but as they said, they wanted to get people before they went to work) to tell us that a snow emergency had been declared and the parking ban was in effect. This is one reason that off street parking in Boston is so critical. Street parking only on odd-numbered side, but all municipal lots and all school lots are available tonight for free.

I might go for a walk in the middle of it tonight. Lots of people have Christmas lights up and it might make Cambridge-town all pretty and stuff. I could use a little Christmas cheer. I always feel a little let down after the cookie-making extravaganza is over.

This is me, by the way, with tupperware and tins full o' cookies (as if you didn't know the "it's me" part; who else would that be?!).
