For starters, who would have thought that there are this many accordion players outside of Germany left in this world? Or outside of the circus, for that matter.
Last Sunday was the Harvard Square Oktoberfest (which doesn’t resemble the real Oktoberfest in any way, shape or form except that both draw large groups of people – the one in Munich just a tad more than the one in Cambridge though) and the HONK street parade… taking back the streets for bipeds, bikers and the odd unicyclist and canine too. (More pictures here). I didn’t stick around Harvard Square long enough to experience Oktoberfest…. I saw the food vendors and a beer prison or two from the distance and that was good enough. The weather was great, though, so it was a good excuse to go for a walk. |
