I decided to brave a few of the crowds and do some shopping today for Christmas presents that I have to send to Europe. I was actually surprised at how efficient my five stores handled the influx of people. I went right in the middle of the day and thought it would be busier. The noticeable different between now and years past is that they actually had enough people helping at checkout lines and stuff. Granted, with unemployment still being high, I think that people will work for just about any wage, so that means you can hire all those minimum-wage, no-benefits-provided teenagers to use cash registers…
We had a little Sedg –scare today: we thought that he had finally truly escaped the yard, so we spent 20 minutes searching and yelling, only to have him meow at us from inside on the window sill. He’s asleep with his moose again. He loves that moose.
I have goddamn Christmas carols stuck in my head. I hate that.
