On the extended-version of the New Year’s Resolution list was:
No. 47: Take a photography course.
So, I signed up for one. It is through the Rocky Mountain School of Photography, and I have heard that they are pretty good. The one complaint that I have about most photography programs is that I shoot digital, with a digital camera – I do not shoot film and then scan either the negatives or scan prints after developing. Most of the programs out there, even for digital, aren’t really for digital photography. They are standard photography and then PhotoShop classes. OK, I see the value in that for some, but not for me. Hopefully this weekend seminar will be fun and a good overview of what these folks can do. It is a bit like a road-show for them, so hopefully they are smart enough to send some of their really smart blokes.
The photo is of Atlanta, where I was a while back. Not a terribly photogenic city, but this one shot of the pillars in the Olympic Centennial Park was pretty cool. I guess this is right by where that bomb went off at the ’96 Olympics.
