So, my friend Elizabeth creates what she calls an Überlist every year. It’s not so much a New Year’s Resolution type of thing, but more just a list of stuff that she wants to get done. In that vein, I decided to create my own. I was trying to get to 100 items, but only made it to the mid-90s. Without further ado, we have the list
Professionally 1. Double current weekly revenue totals by the end of FY05 Q1 for Latitude48 2. Quadruple current weekly revenue totals by the end of FY05 Q3 for Latitude48 3. Add two large companies with repeat business as clients every month for Latitude48 4. Localize trans48.com into Spanish, French, Portuguese, Japanese and Chinese 5. Participate in at least 3 conferences in a sales capacity for Latitude48 6. Attend the ATA conference (in Seattle!) in November 7. Complete 6 paid website projects for our yet-to-be-named web design firm 8. Establish 3-4 viable and reciprocating partnerships for both Latitude48 and web design firm 9. Join as many networking organizations as possible; attend networking events 10. Test out google ads for advertising Latitude48 services
Photography 11. Apply to a minimum of 5 art shows 12. Get into at least one juried art show 13. Have 3 stores selling my cards, calendars and maybe prints 14. Complete katography website redesign and start selling photography online 15. Enter 6 photography contests 16. Take a photography class to learn how to take something besides flower pictures 17. Create portfolio books 18. Scan and archive all old photography negatives (pre-digital)
Health and Fitness 19. Lose 20 pounds by the end of March 20. Lose an additional 20 pounds by the end of August 21. Lose yet an additional 20 pounds by the end of December (note: 2006 will have an entry entitled “Maintain weight loss for whole year”) 22. Have all the fillings in my teeth replaced 23. Have a thorough physical for the first time in forever 24. Walk at least 3 times a week, every week 25. Go hiking at least once a week 26. Bag my first real peak in Washington State 27. Kayak parts of Lake Washington 28. Drink 8 glasses of water every day 29. Floss three times a week 30. Find someplace to swim and do it regularly 31. Limit myself to no more than 2 diet pepsis per day
Making 32. Knit an entire sweater (no quitting in the middle!) 33. Have all Christmas presents made by October 1 34. If I get into any of the art fairs, built a display booth 35. Build a display booth for Latitude48 36. Build a website for Heidi’s basketry 37. Finish Rainer’s website 38. Design and build a new bed frame 39. Make backup CDs of all photographs 40. Build the Modular dwelling for the backyard
Organizing and Improving 41. Clean the basement/garage 42. Clean out the office closet, office bookshelf and printer hutch 43. Give to charity all the clothes that don’t fit or I don’t like anymore 44. Better organize all the important paperwork (buy a fireproof box or safe) 45. Wash the outside house windows 46. Sand the porch table and stain 47. Trim the lilac bush, the dogwood tree and the cherry tree 48. Review and update all addresses in my Outlook Contacts and business card folio 49. Vacuum the stairs 50. Weed through magazine archives, save some, throw away the rest 51. Make a list of all credit/bank card numbers, passports etc and way to cancel/renew should they ever get stolen; save securely but accessibly
Retailing 52. Buy a new laptop 53. Buy a nice new color laser printer 54. Buy another bookshelf 55. Buy a whiteboard for the office 56. Buy a blue KitchenAid stand mixer 57. Buy a Vespa, maybe 58. Buy a new pair of glasses 59. Buy a new coffee maker
The Rest 60. Stop chewing my fingernails 61. Take at least one trip out of the country 62. Plan New Zealand trip for early 2006 63. Have the garden planted by May 1, weather permitting 64. Have Sedgwick and Sidney have annual checkup in June 65. Have a BBQ party 66. Visit the Oregon Coast sometime in January-March 67. Remember everyone’s birthdays 68. Get a haircut every 3 months 69. Thoroughly clean the kitchen, top to bottom 70. Give Matt and Audrey a wedding present 71. Replace all the dead or dying houseplants 72. De-cathair the entire house once a month 73. Visit 3 places in the Pacific Northwest that I haven’t seen before 74. Have all Christmas presents to Europe mailed by November 1, to New England by December 1 75. Read 12 books 76. Learn how to drive a stick-shift 77. Perfect 3 new baking recipes 78. Write more regularly to my aunt who has no email 79. Clean the bathroom and vacuum every week 80. Steam clean the carpets 81. Organize an outdoor movie Monty Python-athon 82. Renew Costco card 83. Change the batteries in the smoke detectors 84. Try more recipes from our copious amounts of cookbooks 85. Paint the trim of the closet door in the office 86. Redesign suletzki.com 87. Stop using so much paper 88. Watch lots and lots of tennis 89. Exchange Birkenstocks 90. Renew pet insurance in February 91. Wash my coffee mug (no comment) 92. Make new über-list for 2006
