Yesterday they found the body of James Kim.
Strange way to start a blog post, about someone who I don't know and in theory, should care as little about as any stranger. Of course, I care. Any life taken early is a tragedy that shouldn't happen. But this one struck home with me. I've been riveted to the news (more than I usually am -- is that even possible?) and even had a dream about this guy the other night. I wanted to desperately for some word that he had been found alive. Maybe just walked out of the woods or something.
Maybe because it was "local" (heck, anything between hear and the CA border is "local"). Maybe it was because it was a 30-something guy, an 'internet guy", if you will. I don't know what it is, but the fact that he didn't make it out... or back to the car... or anything... very sad.
