Today is December 1st and that means three things:
1. I started my Christmas shopping in earnest today. The things that need to go to Europe need to be mailed in the coming week. Surprisingly, I got a lot of that done today, thanks to actually getting out of bed at a decent hour and getting to the Wrentham Outlet Mall at 8:45 this morning, in time for a coffee and then shop-shop-shopping.
2. I started the cookie extravaganza for the year. This year, the plan is 17 kinds to be done by December 13. I made two kinds today and likely two more tomorrow. I might try to get a head start and do three tomorrow but both Spitzbuben and Schartzweißgebäck take a long time, so unless I have a lot of espresso, then I doubt it.
3. I got to open the first little door on the Advent Calendar.
