Dinner on Thursday was great company, so-so food. Seeing Shawn and meeting Brian was kind of neat. He, of-course, had to pull out pictures of high school and the Europe trip days, which was remotely amusing. The restaurant, Union was, eh-so-so. Nothing to write home about.
Tonight Tobias and Jennifer are throwing a “German Evening” party – every year they have an Oktoberfest gathering, but this year they were actually in Germany during late September / early October, so it got delayed. I’m helping out by making a Black Forest Cake (Schwartzwälder Kirschtorte). It came out ok…. At least it looks ok so far. I have made some before that looked like complete disaster areas.
