A few weeks ago (the Monday before Thanksgiving) a good friend of mine was in her garage, on a ladder, pulling down a box of Christmas light when she fell off said ladder. She broke her right leg, her left knee was blown to bits, and she broke her left wrist. Two weeks later, and three extensive surgeries, she is finally home from the hospital, but will be confined to a wheelchair for three months. Man, that has to suck.
She is in surprisingly good spirits though. I'll go visit this weekend, with cookies in hand. She always gets a bunch of cookies at Christmas, but this year I think she and her boys will need an extra helping.
Just for that, I am boycotting Christmas lights this year (oh, wait. I never put up Christmas lights anyway!) |
